Attempting an in-frame rod and main bearing replacement on my newly acquired 340D rowcrop. Old #1 rod bearing left minor scratches on crank journal and was trying to dress it up when I turned the crank to get the other side of the journal, the rod dropped to the side of the crank and I turned the crank too far to get the end of the rod back onto the journal to bring it around another 1/2 turn. I can not turn this engine backward! Is there something that I'm not seeing or what can I do to turn the engine backward about 15 degrees to get that rod back into the journal? Short of removing the head and pull the piston up that is! This is my first experience with a deisel so bear with me please. Tractor is out of gear brakes off, pan off high & dry. TIA.
