I would say the most reliable tractor to buy would be a 966 without a cab, 2nd choice is 856, it depends on usage, maybe you want a cab, then 986, I would avoid anything with Turbocharged engine for day to day lighter work, the 1206 is a classic tractor but its almost 40 years old, shifting is difficult compared to later 26-56-66-86, also 966 only had D414 all series/years.
