Well, did not realize it, but looking at the parts book, the C only has a couple small holes at the back of the transmission case where the larger PTO unit bolts on. On the A and Super A which use the same PTO unit, the hole back there is as big as the PTO unit, so there is plenty of room to do what you want. Might be somewhat of a challenge on the C to get the bull gear loose from the axle and then backup on it again just going through the PTO hole.
