its obvious there are no farmers left. or at least none have read this one. everybody just wants to restore and show em. nobody wants to work em. if you restore and show then you would never get the answer. i love the one that said it was for a foot rest. and the other reply said he hooked pedal spring. both are very wrong. if you ever farm a cub you rely heavily on the 2 little puzzling holes.the cub made history and every mfg tried to keep up from that day forward. cub patented the "cultivision" name. when planting with planters from ih the 2 holes were used to see the fertilizer and the seed drop out of the planting and fert. tubes at ground level. this way you could make sure your 2 hoppers were not stopped up and were still distributing without ever slowing down or stopping . and if you saw that one wasnt coming out you can see it immediately thru the holes and quickly correct the problem and eliminate a skip in your row crop. for tricky cub or farmall problems . call the cub man. i have 7 of them and have been thru and done just about every thing that can be done to one.
