have you pulled the valve out of the bottom of the mcv yet i think youll find that its sticking just taking it out and cleaning it up may let it work.
the clutch plates if they are worn out will let the pto slip also under load fairly cheap and easy to replace have they ever been replaced ? with 6200 hrs and sounds like mostly pto work i expect its high time for a clutch pack. also if its been used while slipping dosent take long to tear the plates out . just finished putting a new pack in ours now have to pull axle off cause think brake is grinding up . had same trouble as you last winter.
