Hi The 584D had a 4 cyl 206D CU IN German Diesel engine, which was same as IH 624D and 474D. Was about 52 HP but by adjusting fuel shut off on injector pump could deliver over 60 HP. This is little brother of 674/684D that had a 239D CU in. These engines were famous for running forever with very little maintance. Things to check for #3 cylinder: 1)Injector feed lines for leaks, be careful when engine is running as these line are under very high pressure and can prenetrate the skin with diesel fuel = blood piosoning. 2)To see if it is a bad injector, just swap to another cylinder. No big chore, just be careful to tighten hold down bolts evenly. 3)Check for antifreeze in the oil. If a previous owner overheat this engine the "O" rings on the sleeves could be damaged. 4)Is there excessive blowby coming out the crankcase breather ? If yes then maybe broken piston ring. Good luck JB

The need for fabricating becomes obvious when you go to buy any of these
