M Farmall Sleeves

I have 4" sleeves in my M. Overbore I presume. I am re-ringing the pistons so I was trying to cut the ring ridge out. Here is where the trouble started. My ridge reamer didn't quite go deep enough to catch the bottom of the ring ridge. Didn't realize this untill I allready cut some off. After I realized the ridge reamer won't go down to the bottom of ring ridge I got out the micrometer again. It measured 3.9995" at the very top when I started. Now it measures 4.033" at the very top, 4.018" half-way down the ring ridge, and appears to be un-cut at the very bottom of ring ridge and measures right at 4". The ring ridge is very slight (pretty sure it is less than a .005" ridge). My question is, if I get the other style reamer that fits clear down in the cylinder and cuts from the bottom up and cut the rest of the ring ridge out, will I be O.K. to go ahead and use the sleeve? I presume the sleeve has a lip on the outside top that catches a groove in the block. How far down is that lip and how big of a lip is it. That is what I am worried about. That I might of cut the sleeve to thin where that outside lip is. I have never had a sleeve out of an M so I am kind of in the dark on that. Don't really want to pull the sleeve unless I have to. But I do know the ring ridge is deeper than I have seen on anything else. I bet it is about 1 inch down from the top. Any knowledge will be appriciated.
