I'm trying to resurrect the belly pump in a '47 H I recently purchased. The history is unknown but upon first engaging the lift-all, I briefly got a pressure reading of 450 and some brownish oil to leak out. My questions are: 1) Should I attempt a kerosine or solvent flush before giving the lift-all its initial 30W non-detergent oil fill? 2) Is it O.K. to have all the ports capped off with only the pressure gauge stuck in a bushing to the outlet elbow on the left? 3) I expect I'll have to do some rebuilding of the unit. I'll check the components to the I&T specs but, do most rebuilds simply involve replacing the gaskets? 4) The jump to 750-800 PSI is said to occur in 'later models'. Does anyone know the year or serial number this happened? 5) If my model is the 450-500 PSI version, where do I go to get the parts to modify it to the 750-800 PSI version? Is it simpler to look for a replacement pump unit? Thanks in advance, Dave
