To adjust the carb on our 300U my Dad used to screw the high speed jet in until the engine start to misfire and sputter and then turn it out about 3/4 of a turn. When you have it adjusted properly and the engine is working hard the inside of the tail pipe will turn a light grey to white color. If it is black then the carb is to ritch, screw the high speed jet in an 1/8 th of a turn. Good luck JB
