That gearshift pattern is definetly the good old IH five-speed. I am starting to think you have a 340 or 504 Row-Crop tractor. Those are the only two American-built IH tractors with four cylinder diesels w/ glow plugs. Take a look at the injection pump, it should have a tag on it. If it is a Roosa-Master pump, I would be 99% sure that you have a 340 or 504. The 340 and 504 Utility tractors had swept-back front ends, so I don't think you have a Utility. Are the tie-rods on your front end out in front of the axle? How about the rear axle, is the wheel bolted to a hub or can it be slid in or out on the axle? See what the other number in the tire size is, but right now I would say that with 14.9's it is probably a row-crop tractor. Look around on the sides of the clutch housing, that's where they put the model/serial number tag, it's about 2"x4" and has a bad habit of getting painted over or falling off. Of course there is a possibility that you have one of the British-built IH's, which I know nothing about.
