Some parts of the BM may have been made in the U.S., but by the time the Super BMD rolled around, they were almost certainly all British. Some tractors were made in Canada- Hamilton made crawler tractors, including the T-4, T-5, and 500. If the tractor was sold in Canada, it would have had a decal put on the tractor saying "Sold by IH of Canada, Hamilton Ontario" or something to that effect. It would have been easy to see that decal and think it was a "Made By" or confused with one after many years.
