Circular fields

Having been raised on a small truck farm in upstate NY, we usually followed the lay of the land and property lines in planting fields. Last week I flew over Georgia, Alabama and Florida. From the air I saw
planted fields that were circular in shape on flat ground. Not the patchquilt that I'm used to. Can anyone help answer, I'm really interested in learning
