You really need a voltmeter to check the charging system. With tractor running, you should get 6.6 volts or more. If you don't get that, the battery won't stay up. Other things to check are to make sure your cables are good and all the terminal connections are clean. Also, do you have a working ammeter to show if it is charging. Needs to show 5 to 10 amps after startup for the first while, then it will drop off as the battery gets charged. I'm assuming you have a voltage regulator and not just the cut out relay which will work differently.
