Don: My very first tractor job at about 6-7 years of age was driving W4 pulling wagon and loose hayloader. I found a 6x6 block of wood to put behind me on seat so I wouldn't slide back when I pushed clutch in. I remember having some older great aunts visiting the farm and they thought what a cruel thing to let a kid go all day with block of wood against his back. Next morning there was a big cussion lashed to W4 seat. I remember the old girls giving my dad a hard time. I hadn't suffered too badly from the block of wood, then again my posterior wasn't quite as wide as the aunts' were.
