The answer to the second part of your question about road travel is; the sickel bar folds up vertically and is held in place by a rod with a large wing nut. Prevent finger amputation by never placing them between the rock guards and the sickel sections. As you raise the bar the sickel is repositionsed to the left and will slice anything left between the guard and section. Holding the bar vertically while picking up the rod,inserting it in the appropraite hole in the bar, and starting the nut requires some dexterity. my nickel
