I am not sure if our hydraulic oil is detergent or not. I usually use generic universal hyd oil, however, we accidently bought 2-5 gals of AW 46 hyd oil and may have put in the 884 before we noticed the mistake. What is AW-46? This problem has been going on for several years. I switched to HY Tran last year and the problem seemed to lessen until it was mixed with univerals, and, or AW 46. We took the seat off and found the transmission air breather was completely plugged. I suspect we also have a water contamination problem. There are no obvious places for water to enter the system. Could a stopped up air breather cause condensation in a quantity to contaminate the hyd oil?
