Our 966 seems to have developed noise in the rear end, but only while making right turns. I kind of suspected that the diff lock may have gotten stuck on, it doesn't seem to be, although we never use the diff lock and the pedal/rod going into the brake housing dosen't want to move up or down. Any other ideas? Brake problem? Axle bearings? Major rear end trouble? Any way to check the diff lock or disable it for a minute? Thankfully we got all the spring tillage done before it happened and now it can just sit on the silage blower all summer.
