There should be two petcocks w/double diamond heads on them on the right side of the pan. Open the top one, if its got enough oil in the engine, oil will drip out. If not, open the bottom one & see if its got any oil that far down. If not, engine could be in trouble, loosen the plug @ bottom of pan & hold it in place while you check for oil &/or water down there (don't take it clear out, its the drain plug) by tipping it slightly to one side. If you don't want to get fingers/hand oily, don't try this method. Don't forget to close the petcocks, they don't have to be real tight, but must be better than finger tight. I just use a pliers to tighten my H's. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
