I think what someone did was to bore the orignal 301 block to accept the 291 sleeves. This was a way to keep the 301 block. I think a way to solve your problem is to use the 291 sleeve and piston kit. These should fit your engine. M&W is not in the piston kit business anymore and their parts are hard to find. I did this same thing for customers many years ago after their block was bored to many times to be rebuilt. It made for a smaller engine, but most guys weren't after maximum power from these tractors anymore.
