Don,

Sounds like you will have to polarize your electrical system. Anytime you disconnect the leads from the generator or regulator you will have to polarize them to get the juice flowing again. This is done prior to starting the tractor.

If you have a POSITIVE ground system, momentarily connect a jumper wire between the "BAT" terminal on the regulator and the "A" terminal on the generator.

Do not touch the "F" terminal on the generator or you could damage your regulator.
