Farmall Daddy, do you have shutters?...once my M started overheating and I realized that someone had played with the crank and closed the shutters about two thirds. Other possibilities??? is the timing fairly well on?..I had a C Allis that would heat up like an iron rod..the timimg was way off, Using water shouldn't create a problem but coolants carry and dispurse heat better than plain water...I'm kinda stumped too as you say you had the rad cleaned and there is no thermostat...could a gasket be turned the wrong way as to block off some of the water outlets?...get a thermometer and find out what the temperature really is when you feel it has over heated..are you going by your guage? Can you see movement of fluid in the rad as the engine runs...water pump function can be checked that way..the rad cap should be on to give some pressure6-7 lbs....keep us informed..I can't think of anything else.....Mike in Exeter Ontario
