Had a similar problem w/carb on Super C. Couldn't get it to stop leaking or flooding. Took it apart several times, finally broke down & took it to my local C-IH shop. They checked the #'s on the carb & found out that it was a distillate carb from a C. Retired (old) mechanic who works only part time on letter & F series tractors told me it was not uncommon for distillate carbs to be put on Super C's, as they had bigger jets & gave the Super "more power". Ordered a needle, seat & gasket for a distillate carb (distillate carbs take a different gasket too) & it worked like a charm. Maybe you have a distillate carb on your C and have the same problem. Didn't get the number from mine written down, & tractor is now in #2 sons hands, 250 miles away, so I can't help you with a number. Parts were avialable from C-IH. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
