H starts, dies :-(

After sitting thru the winter, I put
the battery back in my "H", installed
new battery/starter cables and hit the
button. Started, died. Started, died.
Gas tank sounded empty. Flashlight.
Yep. Put in five gallons. Starts immediate,
dies immediately. Then gas drips out
the carb. Cleaned the sediment bowl.
Lots of water, sand and paint particles.
Gas flows. Took out the little hex head
plug on the carb hopefully draining any
contamination there. Same symptoms.
Anyone had a similar problem? Soil needs
tillin'. I'll check the plugs. What's the fractional plug sized socket to fit?
Tractor is in barn in northern Mich.
I'm serving my sentence here in the city in southern Mich. Help please.
