Not with an A, but I mow an earthen dam on the dry side by starting at the top and mowing straight down. At the bottom, I drive around to the end of the dam and come back on top for the next pass. Yes it is slow, but faster than recovery time in case of accident. Mow in the lowest gear and do not use the brakes- leave the clutch engaged and let the engine control the descent of the tractor. Plan where the trip will end at the bottom and steer to that point.
