I'm assuming you have a one bottom turning plow. The part that is usually missing is the one that controls the tilt of the plow and goes to the front rockshaft arm if you have a super A. To mount the plow, first take the drawbar off, turn it around and remount it facing to the front. Use the mounting holes in the front of the final drive, not the ones at the back where the drawbar usually mounts. Adjust the drawbar to it's lowest position. If you have the mechanism to control the pitch(front to back tilt), that is attached from the drawbar tothe front rockshaft. The plow should have a set of two big springs on the front of the beam with a heavy hinge plate with two holes to match the holes in the drawbar. Bolt the plate to the drawbar so that the outside edge of the bottom is about even with the inside edge of the rear tire. Attach the lifting chain to the rear rockshaft arm. You should then be ready to plow. Takes a couple of furrows to get going. The tractor wheel needs to be in the furrow to do the best job and of course starting out you don't have that. If the plow won't go in, there are some other adjustments that can be made at the hitch to change side to side tilt and help in getting going. The bolts that attach the hitch parts to the beam are eccentrics and can be rotated to change the side to side tilt. The plow bottom should be approximately level when the tractor wheels are in the furrow. If you want to fine tune that adjustment, jack up the land side wheels (or drive up on blocks) to plowing depth, let the plow down on the ground and adjust so the bottom is level to the ground.

Last niht I dreamed about the day that I plowed the field of about 10 acres over on what Jimmy and Dandy called the Ledbetter field. I was driving the 1948 8N Ford tractor that Jimmy bought in 48 new This was prebably in about 1951 and maybe even befor the house was built. This would have made me to be about16 years old and I drove the tractor for nothing and would have paid to drive it if I had had any money which I didn't, but neit ... [Read Article]
