I have worked on the UD-14 diesel engine within the past year, never have worked on the 400. I suspect they are about thesame.I have a "swerviceman's field reference for IH diesel engine and injection system. It would indicate that your problem is with the seal at the drive end of the injector pump. If you pull the pump, make certain it is in time before you remove it, then it's no problem getting it back on in time. I'll be glad to share info out of the book if you need it. I bought it with a bunch of other books when the local IH dealer closed.
