scott i have had some experience with batteries that go bad and switch polarities on the inside i know this sounds crazy but the battery will show up as being hot but it still won't start anything, of course this was in an 18 wheeler with 3 or 4 batteries in it. the bad guy would kill all of the others and still be hot. like i said it sounds crazy
