I have a IH 606 Diesel and it has a 12 gpm pump for power steering and aux hyd couplings at the rear of the tractor. The bypass is set at about 1500 psi. You have to run the engine speed high to get max output psi and gpm. You may want to attach a pump to the PTO at 560 rpm that would give you proper out for a log splitter. I bought a 21 ton at Wall Mart that works great.
