I like Oliver, seems they were a step ahead of other brands quite a bit of the time. IH, McCormick, and Farmall are all good and basically had the same drivetrain with different layouts (industrial, wheatland standard, and row crop).

If JD makes you happy, don't worry about what other people think. I'd like to own a couple of each some day!!
