Hold your hand over the throat of the carburetor and see if there's good suction while someone makes an attempt to start the engine. You probably should have soaked the carburetor in carburetor cleaner and blowed out the jets. Could be plugged with dirt or a gummy residue from old gas. Make sure the carburetor flange is snug agaist the intake manifold. Hal
