Lookin' forward to the pic's. For 7 bucks it's worth the experience to "make it work". Been there, done that most recently with a 10 dollar sickle mower in a pile that was saved from scrap. It is my opinion that enough of this old iron has been melted down. Some has to be parted out to keep the good ones going (sacrifice the rest to save the best, as some say), but I have a soft spot for pieces that I am sure will go to scrap without even being parted. I have made at least one iron buyer go home with less than a full load at several local sales, and have made a deal with another one so he'll not bid against me on most IH stuff if I don't fight him on almost everything else. I have a HM-221 pivot gang steerable cultivator for my H, and 2 row for a C-230, 1 row for SA-140, and parted a tuff 461. The 221's a good machine, you really get a workout steering that thing all day. Dad's 8 row 183 3pt. will eat it alive. I like seeing what I'm doing, front mounts are better in my opinion for this (easier on the neck, at least!). Rear gang helps finish the weeds off and cover the tire tracks. Enjoy! AG

Still another is the alternator. No doubt using the original generator keeps the tractor pure, but for thos
