Check a few other things too. Too lean a fuel mixture can cause heating when under a load. There could also be something like a leaking head gasket or crack in one of the cylinders. The easy place to check is the fuel mix. After this, check the radiator for any plugging. If these steps don't find something, you need to start digging deeper.
