The coil from the 300 will want to see something around 12 volts. If you feed it 6 volts, you'll get an anemic spark going to the plugs at best. Chances are it won't run well, if it runs at all.

A replacement 6 volt coil can be had for around 20 dollars at our local Tractor Supply store. Maybe the real question is - why do you think the coil is bad? Have you tested it? Is there no spark going to the distributor? And have you check the points and condenser?
