removing the deck - Farmall H

I attempted to remove the deck covering the transmission. I had all of the bolts out and it started to lift then got hung up. After looking through the hole where the belt pulley assembly sits, I discovered the shifting forks were held up by a bracket which is bolted into the underside of the deck. It looks as though I need to remove that bracket before I can proceed??
If so, how? And are there any other surprises before I can remove the deck? Thanks.
