Martin - A #10 or #12 wire will replace your damaged wire section OK. You don't indicate what model tractor you have. However if you have a letter series Farmall, the following will get the job done: - 10 ft of #10 or #12 for the generator power wiring (generator "A" to regulator "GEN"; regulator "BAT" to the ammeter; and from the ammeter to the starter switch.) - 35 ft or so of #14 should take care of everything else - unless you've got extra lights, etc. installed. I highly recommend using quality crimp terminals like Thomas & Betts - avoid the cheaper Radio Shack, Walmart, etc. terminals. If you know an electrician, ask him what is good - chances are he'll give you what terminals you'll need. Also get a good quality crimping tool. Will cost only a few $ more, but will save you frustration in a few years! Good luck! Rewiring fairly straight forward....and there's no heavy parts to lift!!
