Chad - S/N indicates your M is a '51. I don't know the HP offhand but believe it's in the mid to high 30's... Generator belt tension is set by screwing the rear flange on the generator sheave in or out. There is a set screw on the moveable flange hub that first must be backed out before the adjustable flange can be turned. (Fan belt tension is adjusted similarly with an adjustable flange on the fan/water pump hub) Probably the easiest fix for the boogered front axle stubs is to replace the entire lower bolster assembly. Around here used NF bolsters are fairly plentiful. Every M changed over to a wide front - and many of them were - will have an NF bolster assembly left over. Visit your local tractor boneyard, ask around among your tractor-owning friends or post a "wanted" ad on this site. Good luck with your M - you're gonna like it!!
