The 40 H originally was 6v, pos. ground, and equiped with a cut-out (not a regulator) and a 4 position light switch. A 4 letter decal was for the 4 position switch. Somebody might of put wrong decal on if tractor was re-decalled. If tractor is set up in this manner, you will need to install the wires as was originally. Polarize the cut-out/generator when done. If electrical system has been converted in any way you WILL NEED to re-wire accordingly. Beware, the cut out box on top of generator looks very simular to voltage regulator. Easy way to tell is to take the top off the box. Cut-out box will have one set of points inside. A voltage regulator will have two or three sets. Wiring is different for the regulator.
