504 electrical questions

I'm looking to perform a tune up on our IH 504 utility and I had a couple of questions.
1. Can the original 6V coil with shunt resistor be replaced with a 12 volt coil? If so, where do I terminate the additional (-) wire coming from the wiring harness?
2. Could anyone tell me what gap to set the points to? What about the spark plugs?
3. The terminal bushing inside the distributor that shields the (-) terminal stud (which the condenser is wired to) from the distributor housing cracked. Could anyone tell me where I could find a replacement?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
