My baling over the years was done with 300, 560 and 656. As each new tractor came along the older one was retited from baling. All great baling tractors.

Baling with square baler is not difficult work, manuverability is much more important than hp. The interesting bit of info I can give you on this is; Farmall 300 still holds the record on my farm for baling the most bales in a two day period at slightly over 8,000 bales. The larger tractors could have done it also, we apparently just never got that well organized again. The 8,000 bales in two days was also a case of 5 teenage boys, proving to the old man, things would get done even when he was away on vacation. He came home in the middle of the operation and was about ready to tar and feather the lot of us. I especially, being the oldest.
