Kev, Is it a Delco ? If so jumper a 14gauge wire from your main alternator lead to terminal 2 under that little black plug on top of the alternator. Then on terminal one, go to your local Case IH dealer and tell them you want the same resistor that they put on 1066's, it is a 25 ohm ceramic resistor. Then run a wire from terminal 1 thru the resistor and back to your coil side of your ignition switch. This will make your system start charging as soon as the engine is running and makes for a nicer set-up. The other way the alternator I think has to build up a certain amount of RPM before it will excite itself and start charging. Good Luck Tim K.
