I just did this a few days ago, so let me try and remember. Remove all the screws holding the shroud so that it is loose. Remove the nut on the backside of the fan. Set the shroud as far as you can so that you can slide the fan forward and up to straddle (inverted) the radiator inlet with the blades. The belts both come off with this cluster so don't forget them when you slap her back together. Also, don't overtighten the nut on the fan when you reassemble. I've seen and heard of lots of broken brackets, necessitating replacement of the timing cover.
