I recently bought a 300 utility fixer-upper for $200. It has sat without running for over 5 years. I have gone over it pretty well and have had good luck so far. This is my first tractor work so bear with me. I pulled out the fuel bowl and fuel lines and threw them out (they were waisted)I replaced them with new line and an in-line filter. I also took apart the carb and replaced the needle and seat, and cleaned it. Well... it won't start. It will run on starting fluid, I have good spark, I have good compression (about 125 all 4) What can I look for in this carb? Question #2 This 1956 300u has a white grill. This isn't right is it? Should'nt it be red? Question #3 This was converted to 12v some time before I bought it. Should it have a resistor on the ignition system? You should see the spark this thing has! It is a standard ignition, not a magnito. Thanks! any info would help
