I've been working on an f-30 off and on (mostly off this winter) and got the engine back together. Now I need to do some work on the rear part. The brake pinion and the drop axle bearings are shot on the right side. The transmission gears are chipped quite bad too. I happend to find a good transmission and rear axel (wide tread) with good round spoke wheels and am tempted to change the whole works. What do you guys think? Is it worth it to go through all the extra work to keep the narrow tread axel? It is one hen of a job.
