Ted: If that plug is type with breather the hole is only aprox 1/2 to 3/4 inch The newer type has an 1-1/2 inch hole and it uses a solid plug. There are no holes on old type that large. The breather will protect it from weather, but not driving through deep water. The serial numbers is a 1961 model, that doesn't help as it could have either pto. I had a 300 with old type and 560 with new type and they were interchangable. You could set those two tractors side by side on enough of a grade rear end oil wouldn't run out, and you could change pto's in 15 min. The significant difference is on where adjustment is, and the large fill hole on new type.
