H radiator removal..again

This is such a great forum!!! I read all the posts about my H as far as removing the radiator & everything has been right on the money so far-right down to one nut coming off & the other not. I have a major problem. Someone welded the steering shafts on either side of the u-joint. The only thing I can think of at this point is to cut the shaft in half & weld it back together with a sleeve when I'm done or replace the whole dang thing from front to back after fixing the radiator. Any suggestions? So much for getting this done quickly!!
