Well first of i would not put any type of
sealant other than permatex copper coat.
This is a copper based adhesive that seals
any little imprefections that may be present.
I have had very good results from this product.
I would surely not use paint as it will turn
hard when it sets.U need good flexablity for a
good seal as any cylinder head will flex during
any tempature change.But then again u never
