Plugs in 350

A couple years ago when I first bought my 350 I was having a big problem with fouled plugs. I replaced the points, plugs and plug wires then I figured out the problem was that the carb was set waaaay to rich. After adjusting the carb there where no further ploblems. My question is, when I replaced the plugs I installed Bosch Platinums with preset gaps. They run fine (still a little rich, black at times) but I think they might be too hot, are they?
