Hydraulic Question

The other day I was clearing the laneway of snow and noticed that the hyd. fluid was slowly seeping out of the filler location behind the seat (IH624) - I opened the filler plug and the level was right to the top (while running). There was no noticable difference in the operation of the loader or the 3pt (although it has had a small problem in staying up on occasion) ...once the tractor was turned-off, the level returned to normal -- any ideas? It was -35 degrees at the time - could it have been related to the cold?
