This is a really common problem w/both H's & M's that have worked for a living. When they are put into 5th, people tend to "grind" them a bit & the mesh between the two gears is not very long. Once they wear, along with the fork, they'll pop out. If you don't want to tear into it, just keep your knee on the lever in fifth. They'll run a long time that way. Try not to grind when you put it into 5th-they'll last a lot longer. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
