Hi Kelly, sound like you are right and you won't know until you get it pulled apart. This happen to my Farmall Super C and once pulled apart it also had a clutch pressure plate that needed regrinding. May be all you need to do is try and greese the fitting, but don't over greese because you don't want the greese all over the plates. Bob
